We believe that stand alone courses do not make a sustainable difference to professional practice in the long term.
Our evidence-informed courses are therefore always accompanied by coaching and are based around collaboration through common endeavour. We know that conversations are more valuable than soundbites. So we are developing communities of discovery and practice where colleagues don’t just learn from a deliverer but are consciously learning from each other.
One size does not fit all. Our CPD offer is needs based as we know that teachers and support staff need appropriate and well matched CPD. It is crucial that this supports the stage they are at in their career and the needs of their school.
In 2017 we launched the Influencing Others leadership course which has a real emphasis on developing the skills and competencies of others to bring about organisation change. A real feature of this course is that we have analysed and deconstructed the key areas that staff have identified as things in which they need greater confidence. This is open to support staff as well as teachers and is completely flexible. Staff can choose 3 to 10 sessions from a menu of choices and all receive 3 hours of individual coaching.
In 2019-20 we will be working collaboratively across our Trust (Tapton School Academy Trust) to offer several training sessions for all of our NQT's and RQT's. Full details can be found by clicking on 'Courses' below.
