Building an Inclusive Classroom

At Fields of Learning, our ethos on inclusion is that we absolutely do not allow disadvantage in any form to hinder a child from making appropriate educational progress. For students with SEND, this means a rigorous process of transition, staff awareness, support through quality first teaching and intervention where appropriate. At Tapton, for students identified as being materially disadvantaged, we ensure that educational opportunity and the opportunity to develop cultural capital is available at every turn. This ethos underpins our work in supporting other schools.

Our teaching school is uniquely placed because of our rich relationship with the Vision Support department in Tapton School and the strength of SLE staff available from Bents Green and across our diverse learning community. We believe that the diversity within Tapton School Academy Trust is a real strength that contributes to developing and inclusive and effective provision in partner schools from Early Years to Post 16.

We can provide support and guidance on interventions, resources to help differentiate, whole school approaches, bid writing and we have a range of colleagues who can deliver training or co-teaching with staff.
